I was hesitant to write this review, but unfortunately I did not have a good experience. I came in because of localized breast pain in an area where an ultrasound had already shown findings consistent with a fibroadenoma. Despite that imaging, after a very brief physical exam, Dr. Young told me that she did not feel anything there and essentially dismissed the possibility that there was anything in that area. She instead told me that I had dense breast tissue. What concerned me most was how quickly the ultrasound finding and my symptoms seemed to be dismissed. I was experiencing very specific, localized pain in the same area identified on the ultrasound, yet I did not feel that there was any meaningful attempt to explain why I was having that pain. I was instead told that I likely had poor form while lifting weights and that this could be the cause. I left the appointment feeling unheard and as though my concerns had not been taken seriously. I ultimately sought a second opinion, and that experience was completely different. My pain and the ultrasound findings were taken seriously, and we were able to have a meaningful discussion about the fibroadenoma and possible removal options. I understand that doctors may have different clinical opinions, but I was disappointed by the bedside manner and by how quickly my concerns and an existing imaging finding were dismissed.

Dr. Young has treated me for breast cancer and follow up care since 2022. She is kind, thorough, timely and a very skilled surgeon. I highly recommend care with Dr. Young.

I received the news my breast biopsey was malignant on My Chart. I immediately called the office and the receptionist understood right away I needed to talk to someone, She got Dr Young ( who was with a patient ) on the phone. Dr Young was wonderful she took a few minutes to explain everything and had an appointment set up to see her the next day so she could go over all the options. There is no way I can really convey the huge difference this made to me. I hung up feeling yes everything will be ok and I have a wonderful caring team to help me through all this !!! Recently had to switch providers and was recommended to try Dr Whitney Young at the Heartford Health Breast Care facility at Mid State. She was excellent and made me very comfortable with the transition.
